Registration Requirements

The New England District Officiating Program would strongly encourage  
at least one parent of new applicants under the age of 18 to attend 
the first ninety (90) minutes of the Level 1 seminar. During that time the 
registration process, the organization of USA Hockey in your area, 
and the procedures for obtaining game assignments (after registration 
is complete) will be covered by the seminar staff.  
This is important information which is often forgotten by youthful applicants

All applicants for registration 
MUST complete the following requirements

1.    Attend a USA Hockey approved and conducted seminar (no exceptions)
                    See list below for dates, starting times and locations
2.    Make proper application and pay required fees to USA Hockey, Inc. (NOW ON LINE AT USAHOCKEY.COM)
3.    Complete open book test with acceptable score for level requested. 
        Passing grades are:
                    35/50 for Level 1
                    85/100 For Level 2
                    90/100 For Level 3
                    90/100 for Level 4
4.    Pass the closed book examination for the level applied for.
        This test is only given at the seminars. Passing grades are:
                    Level 2 - 30/50
                    Level 3 - 40/50
                    Level 4 - 40/50
5.    If applying for Level 4 - you will be required to pass a skating test.
                     27/30 possible points
6. In order to be qualified for the full season you must complete all these
     requirements before the last day of November. If requirements are not
    complete you are not properly registered and will not be eligible to 
    officiate within USA Hockey until testing process is complete.

 The 2009 - 2010 seminar schedule will be posted here during the month of July 2009

SEMINAR NOTES

All seminars include both classroom and ice sessions. All participants must attend the full seminar in order to be given credit for that seminar. Exceptions will be handled on an individual basis prior to the seminar beginning. You will be required to sign in and out at each seminar. Make sure that you bring notebooks and pencil or pen. For the ice session, all participants will be required to have full officiating gear while on the ice. 

  No warm-up suits will be allowed for returning officials except instructors.
